Is there a 'hide mouse cursor' option on the way (sorry if I've completely overlooked it, if it already exists)?

Hi Neal,
thanks a bunch for the feature request. Its a good one. I won't be able to comment on what's coming in future releases. Suffice it to say, we keep a list of feature request and their popoularity. The request to customize the cursor, its clicks and effects has been given before. If other's would like to see this feature, as well, please give it an "amen" because we're tracking the requests and follow-on affirmations. I would like this too and it will tie in nicely with the request for shortcuts to pause the recording too.

Hi Alan,
Thanks for affirming the request. Can you tell me how these might work together? What would be your scenario for pausing and hiding the cursor working seamlessly together? Troy |

What I basically meant was if you hide the cursor then you could then pause the video using a keyboard shortcut as you could not use the mouse at all.
Hiding the cursor may be important if you want the viewer to concentrate on the screen content itself. Initially I would record separate clips with and without the cursor and edit together where I wanted the viewer to concentrate on something. However on second thoughts being able to hide/unhide (toggle) with a keyboard shortcut and continue the recording would be a good option.

Yes, the option to hide the mouse cursor would be nice. When using the Windows version of Camtasia, I do not use the hide-option that often, I simply place the cursor outside of the recording rectangle. But because Camtasia:mac always records the whole screen, there is no place to hide it.
In videos, where I do not hide the cursor, I usually need a highlighted pointer. So equally important for me would be the possibility to highlight the mouse cursor without using third-party software. Every installation of software, even if it's free, has to be approved in our company. And thus needs lengthy discussions, if it's non-standard software like the third-party tool to highlight the cursor. It would be a lot easier, if there were a built-in feature as in Camtasia Studio for PC. And because I use Camtasia mainly for software tutorials, I very often need a highlighted cursor. Best regards, Ute

Hi, yes, we definitely need to be able to lose the cursor in Camtasia Mac to encourage people to use it for capturing machinima in games or virtual environments such as Second Life, also a pause recording would be great for narrating live pieces. I would also like to have the option to film just a portion of the screen, or full screen, as iShowU or SnapzPro X do. As mentioned, being able to animate the cursor would be great too for when we want to use the cursor. The built in editing features in Camtasia Mac are great, especially for people new to editing. It's a great product... just the cursor animation, hide/show, pause, please. Thanks.
