Guys

Really need some open advice on this

Im doing a product demo for distribution to clients by CD, my intial thoughts where to have a couple of HTML web pages linking to a flv embedded demo, this works OK as long as IE opens in kiosk mode(thats a different story)

However Im capturing at quite a high res 1280x800 however as it needs to be fairly compatable with different resolutions whats the best method, Ive thought about producing 2 captures (1024x768) for standard screens and projectors and a widescreen high re version for LCD/Plasmas and laptops.

So my question, is this the best way forward bearing in mind I will need to add more demos onto the CD in the future and is there a easy way to capture once then resize to the correct ratio?

thanks in advance

Simon

I would be very interested in the response to this. I too have been producing CDs with video content which have until now been recorded at 1024x768. This time around I've been toying with the idea of producing a widescreen version as well - but the amount of video content produced would require a whole second CD which really isn't a feasible option.

For my last project I did not go the HTML route but instead produced a CD Menu system in Flash which linked to swf files on the CD. This time I want to move to FLV... but the issue I've run into with these formats on CD is the tendancy for the system to load the entire video into memory before playing rather than "streaming" it. This behavior is fine for short clips, but longer videos present quite the wait time. There has to be a better way.
