Record tooltips

How do you do this?

I think I have seen the answer before but searching in the archived post and didn't find it so please tell it again.

I have a forum and when I click somewhere a tooltips is opend but it's not possible to record this tooltip.

Be sure to click on the application to give it focus. You still may not be able to do it with Snagit. In some cases the tool tips will not display. If it is on XP Snagit may not be able to capture the tips because they are layered windows.

You may download a free, fully functional evaluation copy of Camtasia. It can capture the tool tips.

I use XP Professional so maybe that´s the problem.

I have downloaded a trial of Camtasia Studio but would you please tell me step-by-step what to do?

What I want is a image of the snitz forum with a tooltip open but I can´t figure out how to do this in Camtasia Studio, sorry. :-(

Are you in need of a video capture or a still image capture?

In your first message you used the word "record", which led me to assume you were using the Video Capture mode in SnagIt. With WinXP, SnagIt will not be able to record tooltips and you would need to use Camtasia Studio.

If you just need a still image capture, SnagIt can do that using the Delayed Capture option. If you set a delay of a second or two, that gives you time to start the capture, then hover over the icon to get the tooltip to pop up before the screen freezes. It may take a couple tries to get the timing right, but it can be done!
