Screen Capture option settings?

I am currently using this instruction set to capture a region and get it into studio:
1) ctrl-shift-p
2) in snagit! i choose select all, then copy
3) open snagit studio
4) file-new
5) Paste image into blank field

I can then select the entire image and move it wherever I want. If I just open studio from the capture screen the image seems to be locked into the pallete. Is there a way to save myself those three or four steps and STILL be able to move the graphic around the pallete?

You could avoid step 2 by setting Snagit's Output to Clipboard. Other than that the other steps are necessary.

If you save your captures to a file, you can use the Bitmap button in the lower left corner of the Annotation Toolbar on the right to import graphic files onto the canvas.
