I know Camtasia allows "voice over", adding narration to prerecorded video, replacing the original audio.
But Can I do the reverse- Insert a camtasia video clip (without affecting the original audio track?)
I read a few posts where people talked about this, but never saw how exactly to do it.
Thanks,
Dave

This is a multi-step process, but it can be done:
1. Import your original video footage (the one that contains the audio you want), and drag it to the Timeline.
2. Press Ctrl-U to save off your audio into a separate WAV file.
3. Select the entire Timeline, and execute the Replace with Silence command.
4. Import the audio file you created in Step 2, and drag it down onto your Timeline. It will show up in Track 2.
5. Lock the track.
6. Bring in other video clips and add them to the Timeline. Move, cut, and organize to your heart's content. The audio won't be touched.

Daniel,
Exactly what I was looking for!
I've said it before, but I'll say it again... you rock.
And so does your book... it's a must have!
