View Full Version : Markers show right time but audio is wrong

I've abandoned the Windows Media compile, and I've been able to significantly reduce the size of my Flash file by producing to FLV format.

However..... the hotlinks for my TOC don't seem to synch correctly. I looked at the generated XML, and the times indicated therein are fine, but when you click on the links, it starts the audio about 1-2 seconds into that section.

My audio setting is: 44.100kHz, mono, 96kbits/sec

What should it be to resynch these markers?

My KeyFrame rate is set to 1 sec.
My Frame Rate is Automatic
My Max Bitrate is No Limit
My Bitrate Control is Variable 1-pass
My video quality is 96%

I am using Camtasia 3.1.2, to which I upgraded yesterday.

Please help!

The Table of Contents are based on the markers, but when it gets produced it goes to the closest Key Frame. Changing the rate of key frames can sometimes help get it closer to the place you actually put it. But it seems you've already tried that.

You can also try in the production wizard to create separate files based on markers.

I had the same problem, and with all the tweaking, the FLVs were almost perfect, but still not perfect. When producing as WMV though, the markers were right on the money - albeit 30% larger and a slight sacrifice to quality.

Another suggestion, I don't know how many markers are involved, so it may be impractical, as it was in my case. Produce the show, watch it, and find out which markers are 'fast' or 'slow', then go back an move the markers forward or back in the show. Although they wouldn't look right on the time line in pre-production, they'd come out fine in post. If I were to do that, I'd do a 'Save-as' on the show first...

Because of load time problems, I ended up splitting my project into 8 separate files by section and putting them together in Camtasia Theatre. So I made SWF instead of FLV files. Now each section loads quickly and the audio is fine because it's relying on loading files instead of markers. [:)]
