Hi group.
Is it possible to save/distribute "My profiles" to other users in a multi-user environment?
I had no success with exporting the registry to another computer.[:(]
Can anyone here help?
Best regards, Berpox
If you have a multi-user version, there should be a file in your SnagIt installation directory named EIReadme.txt. This file will contain instructions on how to import and export settings from different systems using the the command line arguments available in SnagIt.
The exact part of this document that you should read is:
Import and Export Program Settings
----------------------------------
Both the single-user and the multi-user SNAGIT32.EXE will import the
settings from a SNAGIT.REG file present in the same directory when
run. It will automatically import ONLY on the first time SNAGIT32.EXE
is run. To import settings thereafter, you need to use the
command-line switch explained below.
In order to support the Enterprise Installation functionality, two
command-line options have been added to SNAGIT32.EXE to support import
and export of the program registry configuration:
/d [file]
This option imports the registry settings from a file.
The optional [file] can include the path and name of the file
( default is SNAGIT.REG in the current directory )
/e [file]
This option exports the registry settings to a file.
The optional [file] can include the path and name of the file
( default is SNAGIT.REG in the current directory ).
EXAMPLE: snagit32.exe /e e:\snagit\snagit.reg
These options can be used if you wish to manually import/export SnagIt
registry settings. The format of the file used for the registry
settings is compatible with the REGEDIT.EXE program from Windows.
Thank you for using SnagIt!

Hi. For some months ago I bought a single license, and today I bought a 12 user license - and I then downloaded 1 single installation file (snagitmultiuser-70-win-us.exe), and saved it on my network. Then I simply installed on the clients from this file.
So - it is the settings from my single license installation I want to distribute to the new users.
I have now tried to export my registry file as described - but the reg. file have a lot of keys that points to my local computer.
As far as I can see, there is no difference between openening the windows registry and exporting the TechSmith area, or the way you describe.
I only want one single file/registry key (file) that makes it possible for me to set up all the new installations with the same favourite capture settings as mine....
Is that possible? As I mentionend, I had no luck with exporting the Windows Registry Key with regedit.
Best regards
Berpox
Hello,
Using the instructions in this email, create a registry file for your installation and try it on a new PC. Does it setup SnagIt with the settings that you defined?
We are aware that it will also contain some references to your local PC. This is something we are going to resolve in a later release.
Thank you for using SnagIt!
