View Full Version : Capturing Drop-down menus
Can Snagit capture the menu items from a drop-down menus on a web page?
For example, trying to capture all of the menu items in the drop-down field on this page: http://gateway.mnlink.org/WebZ/Authorize?sessionid=0&bad=index.html&next=startscreen.
Thanks for the help. [:D]
Nope. I guess not. I tried every way to try and trick Snagit into scrolling that and I could not get it to do it.
The only workaround that I can think of is to make multiple capture and join together in Snagit Studio.

Hey Kyle--
My workaround to capture drop-down menus is....
have both applications open,go to the browser,
move cursor to the selected area (drop down menu),
and use the SnagIt's quick-key (alt-shift-P)to capture.
If you toggle back to Snag-It to enable the Capture Record, the drop down will not be available.
Correct me if i'm wrong. thanks.

Dear TechSmith Support
I experimented and found that you don't have to use Snagit to capture the text in a drop-down list.
As a test example, at the main page of the Basic Snagit Forum there is a drop-down list just to the right of "There are 5 Pages of Topics:"
Copy it from your browser and paste it to get this:
1 2 3 4 5
Snag it (using mode=text input=Object) to get this:
VALUE = 1
Snag it (using mode=image input=Object) you get an image that looks like this:
1
2
3
4
5
But Snagit will not grab the whole list as text.
Fortunately, the browser can copy it.
