I'd like to capture a cascaded start menu, e.g.
Start...All Programs...Administrative Tools...Computer Management

Is there a way of doing this other than simply capturing a region? This always includes the background (desktop) which I then need to edit away.

Regards,

Dave

I have SnagIt 7 and was able to capture a cascaded start menu without the background using the following:

Input > Menu
Input Properties > Menu > Menu Caputre Options > Select the Capture cascaded menus option.

This won't capture the actual task bar (Start button). If you want that as well, I suggest you use the capture object to snag the task bar into Studio first. Then capture the menu with the settings above and paste it into Studio with the task bar. It'll take a little work to change the canvas size to accomodate both; however, it may be easier than cropping the background.

Hope this works.

Another way to capture difficult menus to capture is to use Input>Multiple Area, and Input>Object.

Is there any chance that something could be done to add this to the input type for Menu that includes the base window that the menu cascades from?

Snagit can not capture cascading menus using Mozilla - Firefox. Visit the link at bottom and check out the Snagit site. I show the problem with trying to do this. Title: Capture Pulldown Menus.
