if i send to clipboard, then where do i find the "clipboard.

If you are in an application, say Word for example, and you highlight some text and select in Word Edit>Copy, the text is placed into the Clipboard. When you select Edit>Paste the text is copied from the Clipboard into whatever application you are Pasting into.
So, in Snagit if you Output to the Clipboard the screen capture can be used in an Edit>Paste operation.
