Hi guys! I'm new to the forum and would appreciate some help. I downloaded a trial version for evaluation and I'm trying to capture a video off a movie promo website. When I record, the recording vision I see on the screen seems fine, but in playback it seems like there are chunks/multiple frames missing and "jerky". The audio sounds fine.

I increased the frames/sec rate to 30, but that didn't make any difference. There is no problem with bandwidth or buffer - the video is playing exactly per normal.

I sent the question to the support team, and they said it was usually a systems resource issue, and to update drivers (latest in use), shut other apps, and to Disable hardware acceleration, on the desktop (set the acceleration slider to None).

I did all that and the playback recording is 10 time worse and little or no audio.

Any ideas out there? I won't be wasting $300 if the results are mediocre??

@John H

I think if you'll play with your settings you'll find what works for you. Here are a few 20 second music video clips I captured and produced as FLV's with a video setting of 425 kbps and an audio setting of 32 kbps.

quality test (http://mymail.playourvideo.net/musicdemo.htm?id=musicdemo.xml)

The real key is the quality of the video on the internet you capture. Stick with HD video sources to capture from. Typically capture at 29.97 FPS or 30 FPS and as close to the size you're going to produce to. In my example's case 720 x 480

@John H

It's a bit late in the day but I'll PM you tomorrow when I have time for a call. In the meantime, take a look at this thread.

Possible fix for what you are seeing (http://forums.techsmith.com/showpost.php?p=34959&postcount=8)

It may just solve things for you. Just download the 2 swf's and put them in the directory referred to in the Tech Support answer shown.
